Hermes Airports has informed the public that, due to the general strike taking place in Cyprus from 11am to 2pm, more than 50 arrivals and departures from Larnaca and Paphos airports are expected to be affected, adding that the total number of passengers whose flights will be impacted is expected to exceed 15,000.
"As the rescheduling of flights by airlines is being finalised, Hermes Airports urges the public to monitor their messages and to contact their airline or travel agent directly in order to be informed of the new departure or arrival time of their flight. Furthermore, the new flight times, once announced, will be posted on Hermes Airports website www.hermesairports.com," the airports' operator's announcement continued.
It also noted that, due to the strike, the following flights have been cancelled: Jazeera Airways to and from Kuwait (JZR345/JZR346), Qatar Airways to and from Doha (QTR265/QTR266), and Emirates from Dubai to Larnaka and from Larnaka to Malta (UAE109).
"We also inform the public that, in coordination with the ground handling companies, arrangements have been made so that once the strike ends at 2pm, additional staff will be on duty to serve the increased number of passengers," Hermes Airports said.
